Meredith Matson is a New York City Principal and author. Throughout her twenty-year career as an educator, she taught for eleven years, was an Assistant Principal for five years, and is currently in her fifth year as a principal. During her experience within the classroom, she was a mentor to numerous new teachers and student teachers, she co-led professional development, was a department leader and grade team leader, and an active member of the School Leadership Team. In all her interactions with students and colleagues, her philosophy of promoting high expectations, relationship-building, and spaces to reflect is at the core of her work. Meredith studied secondary education and sociology at the University of Vermont and earned her master’s degree in School Building Leadership at Pace University. She considers herself a lifelong learner and most recently earned her School District Leader certificate at Molloy College.
Meredith lives in Baldwin, NY with her husband, Mike and two sons, Max and Luke. They love spending time together being outside, watching movies, playing games, and/or cooking a meal. They enjoy their time with their family and friends and are always up for an adventure.
